Abstract:

The aim of the present paper is to examine a significant question related to
Hyperides' apology entitled Against Diondas: its dating. Having established
the exact date of its composition, we can attempt to deal with the speech in
its connections with the extremely interesting political history of Athens
in the 4th century BC.
